6 Sports' Two-A-Days kick off in the WestPAC Conference.

Gary Gouse enters year 29 as head coach at Portage, his Mustangs are coming off a playoff berth in 2018 and will make the transition from shotgun to the pistol, which will heavily feature senior quarterback Conner Price.

Blacklick Valley fell just short of their ultimate goal in 2018, and as head coach Rich Price enters year number two, he believes an emphasis on offensive physicality could give the Vikings the upper hand when things get close in the fourth quarter of games this season.

Tony Penna Jr. takes over at Conemaugh Township after finishing out last season with Johnstown. He will fill the shoes of Sam Zambanini who spent the past twenty years as the head man at Township. Zambanini will remain on staff, and the combination of mentalities could give the Indians the advantage this season.

Shawn Furfari enters year number two at Ferndale. He was on staff two years ago when the Yellow Jackets made a push into the district playoffs and upset Portage on the road. He believes that his younger players have grown a lot under his tutelage, and the ones still around from two years ago know what it takes to get back to success this year.

Matt Grohal welcomes back a deep offensive line for a Windber team built for the power game. After a 4-1 start in 2018 the team faltered in the second half of the season, Grohal believes his squad will go the distance and raise the bar this year.

Conemaugh Valley will feature their third different head coach in as many years in 2019. Matt Kent is all about changing the culture, and likes the place the Blue Jays sit entering this year.

Doug Paul has seen plenty of success at Berlin. As year 18 closes in, he will welcome back 16 total starters on both sides of the ball for a squad dynamic enough to rise to the top of the conference in 2019

Wes Berkebile will look for better fortunes for his North Star Cougars in year number three at the helm. North Star returns 8 starters on offense and 9 on defense for a group eager to show they belong in 2019.

Ryan Donaldson enters year two as head coach at Meyersdale. After a 5-6 finish to 2018, he is excited to welcome back 9 starters on each side of the football and expects big things from his group this year.

Don Fyfe guided the Shade Panthers to an unbeaten regular season in 2018. He will look for a huge jump from his underclassmen filling the voids lost to graduation from last year's squad. He loves the pieces returning, and if they learn on the fly, Fyfe believes they can contend at the top of the WestPAC once again.
