Authorities in Jefferson County say new charges have been filed against a Punxsutawney man who was arrested last month in the shooting death of his girlfriend.

Investigators say 20-year-old Dakota Greeley appeared in court Monday for a preliminary hearing where authorities say his initial charges were withdrawn.

Police say new charges of criminal homicide and murder were then filed, as well as charges of homicide of an unborn child, two counts of murder of an unborn child and abuse of a corpse.

According to online court records, Greeley's charges were then bound for court.

Greeley was initially charged with shooting and killing his girlfriend, Trisha Renee Cole, on Nov. 9 in Clover Township.

According to an updated affidavit, troopers say Greeley is also accused of running over Cole's body after she was shot.

Investigators say an autopsy determined that Cole was pregnant at the time of her death.

Troopers say they also learned that Greeley had reportedly made several comments about the pregnancy, including how it "ruined his life."

Police say, according to a witness, Greeley had also reportedly stated that he wanted to "kick and beat the child out of the victim."

Investigators say medical records confirmed that Cole had visited a local hospital, in late October, to confirm the pregnancy.

Troopers added that after the doctor's visit, Greeley allegedly commented, "can we kill it now."

Greeley is being held at the Jefferson County Jail and his bail was denied.

His next court date has not yet been scheduled.
